What people have said

Just a quick note to say thanks for the session I attended yesterday, it was a really enjoyable learning experience and I believe that this approach will have ensured I remember and utilise the learning's I took away. The whole session was a really well organised, so please also pass my thanks on to the others involved." John Dovell, Operational Excellence, Amec

"The ‘Red Horse Speaks' certainly fits the bill for a fresh and innovative approach to leadership development. I could not have found a better activity or ‘facilitators' to launch our new global Manager Advance programme. Chelsea and Susie provided us with insight into our own strengths and limitations in a simple, non-threatening way.  The approach enabled us to rise above any potential language or cultural barriers. Working with the horses was interactive and fun and engaged our emotions. As we all know, these are key elements for effective learning. I look forward to working with the horses, Beth and Sue again in the future." Joyce Wallace, People Development Manager, AMEC Natural Resources

"When I booked a training day with Beth I thought it would be a nice day out for my volunteers, a chance for them to get to know one another and have fun.  We all had lots of fun and the group got to know one another better, however there were some unexpected outcomes from the training day. I watched volunteers achieve things which no one thought possible, individuals who started off the day not being able to touch the horses, progressing to being confident and assertive enough to get Susie to canter round the school through nothing but determination and positivism. As a team leader, I developed more of an understanding of how my team works and different individuals strength and weaknesses.  I have also learnt a great deal about my own leadership style and as such I have changed my style of support and supervision with volunteers. Thanks to everyone who made the day so memorable." Ellen Pawlowicz, Volunteer and Training Coordinator , Aberdeen Foyer

"If I'm honest I was a bit sceptical, not to mention scared of the horses but I thoroughly enjoyed it and if we had the opportunity again I would jump at the chance!"  Jude Knox, Aberdeen Foyer Volunteer.

"I was looking for something stimulating and different for my team building away day but I also wanted something which would produce effective and lasting results.  Both myself and my team agreed that you only get out of the event what you put into it.  We came away with a real sense of team cohesiveness and heightened awareness of our individual and team strengths and weaknesses with which we can build on.  As a manager, the event has enabled me to maximise on the teams' strengths, use the insights gained during the event to focus my service development strategy and determine an appropriate training programme for the team.  I would highly recommend this form of experiential learning for any established or emerging team." Joy MacKay, Head Occupational Therapist, Fife NHS.

"The support and facilitation provided by the red horse speaks team resulted in a memorable experience for my team. We were able to focus on some of the communication and interface issues that were affecting team performance." Neil Marchant, Supply Chain Services Manager, Nexen Petroleum (UK) Ltd.
